Abstrat: Materials Science and nanotechnology are basic technology for supporting various industries. The recent progress of these technologies has especially contributed to development of information and communication industries. Materials science and nanotechnology are also indispensable technologies for a solar cell and photo catalyst developments to maintain global environment. Interdisciplinary research is required for application of materials science and nanotechnology, since these technologies are able to contribute to our society by integration to various technologies. We aim at exploitation of new nanobiotechnology field by integration of life science with materials science and nanotechnology. That is, our purpose is to find novel biological phenomena using molecular and cellular biological techniques and to apply these finding to biomedical fields using nanotechnology. Our basic technique is to find and identify genes and proteins responsible for various diseases using DNA microarray and liquid chromatography mass spectrometer. Nanotechnology is essential for application of our findings to diagnosis or cure. Here I will introduce our ideas that we apply our findings on cholangiocarcinoma specific proteins and proteins responsible for join contracture to diagnosis and cure using nanotechnology. In addition, I will also introduce the idea for therapy of pollen allergy using nanotechnology. 教授简历 1994 Ph.D. in Engineering, University of Tokyo (Biochemical Engineering); Supervisor: Isao Karube1994-97 Research Associate, Research Institute for Innovative Technology for the Earth1997-01 Associate Professor, Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology, University of Tokyo, Japan2001-05 Professor, School of Bionics, Tokyo University of Technology, Japan2005-06 Senior Researcher, Biomaterials Center, NIMS, Japan2006- Group Leader, Biomaterials Center, NIMS, Japan2007- Manager, Nanotechnology Innovation Center, NIMS, Japan2008- Professor, Graduate School of Life Science, Hokkaido University, Japan2009- Deputy Director, Nanotechnology Innovation Center, NIMS, JapanHonors/Awards:i. 1996 Research Institute for Innovative Technology for the Earth, Patent Awardii. 1996 Research Institute for Innovative Technology for the Earth, Paper AwardResearch Interest:1) Establishing a novel field of material nanobiology called "surface nanobiology" or "particle nanobiology".2) Elucidating bone formation mechanism and developing artificial bone.3) Evaluating biomaterials using comprehensive gene expression analysis. 4) V. Education and Outreach Activities:I was involved in the planning and establishment of Nanotechnology Innovation Center under a grant provided by Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology (MEXT). The concept of this center is that academic, business, and governmental nanotechnology and material researchers have the opportunity to use facilities and equipments at our Institute. This Center provides nano-processing techniques for various materials, such as silicon, compound semiconductors, oxides, organic and polymer materials, biomechanical materials, to promote technological innovation by integration of nanotechnology with other technological fields including biotechnology. Fostering of scientists in the field of advanced interdisciplinary nanotechnology is also one of missions of this Center. 高分子复合材料研究所
