Dr. Xu received his PhD in Chemistry in Zhejiang University in 2013 （Prof. Chao Gao）and worked in the same group as a Post Doc. in 2013-2015. Then, he moved to the Cambridge Graphene Center in Cambridge University and worked with Prof. A. C. Ferrari in 2015-2016. In 2017, he joined the Department of Polymer Science and Engineering, Zhejiang University and received the 100 Talent Program of Zhejiang University. His research interests include (1) liquid crystals of 2D nanomaterials (2) graphene macroscopic materials: fibers, films and frameworks and (3) the assembly behavior of 2D nanomaterials. He published over 30 papers in Nature Communications, Advanced Materials, ACS Nano and other journals. His papers have been cited over 1700 times. These papers have been highlighted by Nature, Natuer News, NPG Asia Materials for many times. The graphene fiber knot was selected by Nature as the image of the year 2011.
